John Murphy grew up in Wisconsin, where the long winters provided plenty of indoor time to draw. He devoured books about art and illustration from a young age — everything from Drawings of the Masters to MAD Magazine. In 2006, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oregon’s Clark Honors College with a BA in Art History. He taught Art History at Western Oregon University and Chemeketa Community College before relocating to lovely Ashland, Oregon, where he currently works as the in-house designer and illustrator for Idylls Press. John also contributes film and literary criticism to Godspy, and reviews of Shakespeare on stage and screen to Bardolatry.
